About Comal County Residents Directory

Comal County does not keep a single book of every resident. Instead, property accounts, deeds, voter records, court indexes, library collections, and historic directories each preserve part of the picture. Comal County Residents Directory is a private reference that points readers toward the responsible record holder and explains the difference between an ownership lead, a directory entry, and an official copy.

Why This Site Exists

Older New Braunfels and Comal County directory material is held across the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the UT Briscoe Center, the library, and local history organizations. Current records are divided among the Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector, County Clerk, court clerks, and Elections office. The goal here is to make those routes easier to understand, including the limits of each record. We collect the office contacts, access channels, coverage details, and research methods in one local reference, but the original custodian remains the authority for every record.

What You Can Find

  • Pages by angle: the street directory for address records, the city directory for historical collections, and the resident lookup for one-person verification.
  • Records and offices: property, deeds, elections, court, vital-record, archive, and library routes relevant to Comal County.
  • Practical methods: tracing a parcel, reading a directory listing, pairing address evidence with census years, and making a focused request.
  • Access boundaries: the Texas Public Information Act, custodian procedures, and the records that state or federal rules keep confidential.

Limits of Our Role

Comal County Residents Directory is privately operated. It is not connected with a Comal County department, a Texas agency, court, library, or other records custodian. The site cannot verify a person’s current location, produce or certify a record, alter a government database, or provide legal advice. Links and coverage details can also change without notice, so an important result should always be checked with the office that created it.

  • Only the custodian can correct, authenticate, or certify its record.
  • Search results and historical listings are leads, not an identity determination.
  • Confidential, sealed, protected, and restricted records remain outside ordinary public research.
  • Questions about a county document belong with the County Clerk or appropriate court clerk.
  • Questions about a public-records request should be directed to the governmental body that holds the existing record.

Use public-record information lawfully and verify it at the source. This private reference may not be used for any Fair Credit Reporting Act regulated purpose.
